There was some reversal of fortune in the Ladies 36 hole competition played over two weeks. Barbara Burton took first place in round two, medal 5, with 90 gross, 72 nett, but was not placed over 36 holes as she missed the first round. Pat Fox improved her overall placing by coming second in round two with 89 gross, 75 nett giving a total nett score of 166.
However, Pam Beardsall came out overall winner of the 36 hole competition, having placed herself comfortably in 4th place in round 1 with a nett score of 78 and following it up in round two with another 4th place with a nett score of 77 ( gross 98) – a total of 155.
In second place was Pat Stirling who was lying in 13th place after round 1 with nett 81 but achieved 3rd place in the 2nd round with nett 76 – a total of 157.
Moving up to third place overall from 6th position in round 1, Lynn Tongue also had 157 overall ( 78 & 79).
Three players totalled 159 over the two rounds: Karen Pollard (74 and 85) Belinda Briggs (80 and 79) and Liz Fitzakerley (80 and 79).
